Raymond E. Feist (born December 23, 1945) is an American author known for his fantasy novels and series. His best-known work is the Riftwar Cycle, which includes the popular Riftwar Saga and its numerous sequels and spin-offs.

Raymond E. Feist was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. It was during his time at university that he developed the ideas for his first novel, Magician.
Career[edit]
Feist's first novel, Magician, was published in 1982 and was later split into two volumes, Magician: Apprentice and Magician: Master. The book was a critical and commercial success, establishing Feist as a prominent author in the fantasy genre.
