Wendell Weeks

Wendell P. Weeks (born 1959) is an American businessman and the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board of Corning Incorporated, a multinational technology company specializing in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials and technologies.

Early Life and Education

Weeks was born in 1959 in Syracuse, New York. He attended Lehigh University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance. He later received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School.

Career

Weeks began his career at Corning Incorporated in 1983. He held various roles in finance and business development before being appointed as CEO in April 2005. In addition to his role as CEO, Weeks was elected Chairman of the Board in April 2007.

Under Weeks' leadership, Corning Incorporated has focused on innovation and technology-driven growth. The company has made significant advancements in the fields of optical communications, life sciences, and environmental technologies.

Personal Life

Weeks is married and has two children. He is actively involved in various philanthropic activities and serves on the board of several non-profit organizations.

Recognition

In 2010, Weeks was named one of the "Best-Performing CEOs in the World" by Harvard Business Review. He has also been recognized by Barron's as one of the "World's Best CEOs".
