Walter Siegmeister
American writer and proponent of alternative theories
Walter Siegmeister (1901–1965), also known as Raymond W. Bernard, was an American writer and proponent of alternative theories related to health, spirituality, and esoteric subjects. He is best known for his works on hollow earth theories and natural health practices.
Early life and education
Walter Siegmeister was born in 1901 in New York City. He pursued higher education at Columbia University, where he earned a Ph.D. in education. His academic background laid the foundation for his later writings, which often combined scholarly research with unconventional ideas.
Career and writings
Siegmeister began his career as an educator but soon shifted his focus to writing and promoting alternative theories. Under the pseudonym Raymond W. Bernard, he authored several books and articles that explored topics such as vegetarianism, fasting, and natural hygiene.
Hollow Earth theory
One of Siegmeister's most controversial interests was the hollow earth theory, which posits that the Earth is hollow and inhabited by advanced civilizations. He believed that these inner-earth societies possessed superior knowledge and technology. Siegmeister's writings on this subject contributed to the popularity of hollow earth theories in the mid-20th century.
Health and spirituality
Siegmeister was also a proponent of natural health practices. He advocated for a vegetarian diet, fasting, and detoxification as means to achieve optimal health. His book "The Health Revolution" emphasized the importance of natural living and spiritual enlightenment.
Later life and legacy
In his later years, Siegmeister continued to write and lecture on his theories. He lived a reclusive life, often retreating to rural areas to practice the natural lifestyle he advocated. Siegmeister passed away in 1965, but his works continue to influence alternative health and esoteric communities.
