The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health is a public health school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is one of the top-ranked public health schools in the United States and is known for its research and education in public health.
History[edit]
The school was established in 1936 as the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was the first school of public health in the state of North Carolina and the fourth in the United States. In 2008, the school was renamed the Gillings School of Global Public Health in recognition of a $50 million donation from Dennis and Joan Gillings.
Academics[edit]
The Gillings School offers a variety of degree programs, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The school is organized into several departments, including Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Health Behavior, Health Policy and Management, Maternal and Child Health, and Nutrition.
