Global health (pronunciation: /ˈɡloʊbəl hɛlθ/) is a field of study, research, and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide.

The term "global health" is derived from the English words "global", meaning "all over the world", and "health", meaning "the state of being free from illness or injury".
