Melissa d'Arabian

Melissa Donovan d'Arabian (born October 1, 1968) is an American cookbook author and television host. She won the fifth season of Food Network Star, which led to her own show, Ten Dollar Dinners.

Early Life and Education

Melissa d'Arabian was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up in Tucson, Arizona and Anacortes, Washington. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science and later earned an MBA from Georgetown University.

Career

After winning the Food Network Star in 2009, d'Arabian launched her cooking show Ten Dollar Dinners. The show focuses on creating family-friendly meals on a budget. In addition to her show, d'Arabian has also authored two cookbooks: Ten Dollar Dinners: 140 Recipes & Tips to Elevate Simple, Fresh Meals Any Night of the Week and Supermarket Healthy: Recipes and Know-How for Eating Well Without Spending a Lot.

Personal Life

Melissa d'Arabian is married to Philippe d'Arabian, a software engineer. They have four daughters together and reside in San Diego, California.

Philanthropy

Melissa d'Arabian is an active supporter of several charities, including Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to end child hunger in America, and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a pediatric cancer charity.

Awards and Recognition

In 2009, Melissa d'Arabian won the fifth season of Food Network Star. Her cookbook Ten Dollar Dinners: 140 Recipes & Tips to Elevate Simple, Fresh Meals Any Night of the Week was a New York Times bestseller.
