TRIM24

TRIM24 (Tripartite Motif Containing 24), also known as transcription intermediary factor 1 alpha (TIF1α), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TRIM24 gene. This protein is part of the TRIM protein family, which is characterized by a tripartite motif including three zinc-binding domains: a RING finger, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region.

Function

TRIM24 is a transcriptional co-regulator that interacts with numerous nuclear receptors and co-repressors. It is involved in various biological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and oncogenesis.
