StartX is a non-profit startup accelerator and community of entrepreneurs affiliated with Stanford University. Founded in 2011, StartX aims to support the development of Stanford's top entrepreneurs through experiential education and collective intelligence. The organization provides resources, mentorship, and a collaborative environment to help startups succeed.
History[edit]
StartX was founded by Cameron Teitelman, a Stanford alumnus, in 2011. The accelerator was created to address the gap in support for Stanford-affiliated entrepreneurs. Since its inception, StartX has supported over 1,000 startups, including notable companies such as Lending Club, Poynt, and Branch Metrics.
Programs[edit]
StartX offers a variety of programs designed to support entrepreneurs at different stages of their startup journey. These include:
- Core Accelerator Program: A three-month program that provides startups with mentorship, resources, and access to a network of experienced entrepreneurs and investors.
- MedX: A specialized program for healthcare and life sciences startups, offering tailored support and resources.
- StartX-QB3 Labs: A partnership with QB3 to provide lab space and resources for biotech startups.
Community and Network[edit]
StartX fosters a strong community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. The organization hosts regular events, workshops, and networking opportunities to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing. StartX also leverages its extensive network of Stanford alumni and industry experts to provide startups with valuable connections and insights.
Funding and Support[edit]
StartX operates as a non-profit organization and does not take equity in the startups it supports. Instead, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and partnerships to fund its programs.
