St. Michael's Hospital
St. Michael's Hospital is a teaching hospital and medical centre located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is associated with the University of Toronto and is currently managed by the Unity Health Toronto network. The hospital is named after Saint Michael, a figure in Christian theology known for his role as a healer and protector.
History
St. Michael's Hospital was founded in 1892 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, who were invited to Toronto by Bishop John Walsh to care for the sick and poor of the city. The hospital originally operated out of two rented houses and had a capacity of 26 beds. Over the years, the hospital has expanded significantly and now has a capacity of over 460 beds.

St. Michael's Hospital provides a wide range of medical services, including emergency medicine, cardiology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics. The hospital is also home to the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, which conducts research in a variety of medical fields.
