Saturday

Saturday (pronunciation: /ˈsætərdeɪ, -di/) is the day of the week between Friday and Sunday. It is traditionally considered the seventh and final day of the week in many cultures, although some consider it the sixth day.

Etymology

The term "Saturday" comes from the Old English Sæternesdæg, which in turn comes from the Latin Saturni dies, or "day of Saturn". Saturn was the Roman god of agriculture and harvest, which is why the day was often associated with rest and relaxation after a week of labor.
