History

Licorera Cihuatán was established in 2004 by the Dumont Family, a family with a long history in the sugar industry in El Salvador. The family decided to venture into the rum production business, leveraging the abundance of sugarcane in the Cihuatán valley. The first bottle of Ron Cihuatán was released in 2015, marking a significant milestone in the country's spirits industry.

Production

Ron Cihuatán is made from sugarcane harvested from the fields surrounding the distillery. The sugarcane is crushed to extract the juice, which is then fermented and distilled. The rum is aged in American oak barrels, which gives it its distinctive flavor and color.
