Robaxin

Robaxin (pronunciation: roh-BAX-in), also known as Methocarbamol (pronunciation: meth-oh-KAR-ba-mol), is a muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasms/pain. It is often used in combination with physical therapy, rest, and other treatments.

Etymology

The term "Robaxin" is a brand name for the generic drug Methocarbamol. The name "Methocarbamol" is derived from its chemical structure, which includes a carbamate ester identified by the prefix "metho-" and a phenol group identified by the suffix "-mol".

Usage

Robaxin is used to treat skeletal muscle spasms, often in conditions such as muscle strain or sprain. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.

Dosage and Administration
