Pimpinella is a genus of plants in the family Apiaceae, which includes several notable species such as the anise (Pimpinella anisum), a herb widely used for its seeds and oil in cooking and herbal medicine. The genus Pimpinella comprises a variety of species, many of which are native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Description
