Pangasinan is a province in the Philippines located in the Ilocos Region in Luzon. Its capital is Lingayen, and it is situated on the western area of the island, along the Lingayen Gulf and the South China Sea. The province is known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and natural attractions.

Etymology

The name "Pangasinan" comes from the word "asin," meaning "salt" in the local dialect, referring to the province's historical role as a major producer of salt.
