Olaflur is a fluoride-containing compound used in dental care to prevent dental caries (tooth decay). It is commonly found in various oral hygiene products such as toothpaste and mouthwash. Olaflur is known for its ability to enhance the remineralization of tooth enamel and inhibit the demineralization process, thereby providing a protective effect against cavities.
Mechanism of Action
Olaflur works by releasing fluoride ions when it comes into contact with the saliva in the mouth. These fluoride ions are then incorporated into the hydroxyapatite crystals of the tooth enamel, forming a more acid-resistant layer known as fluorapatite.
