North Middlesex University Hospital
North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) is a major hospital located in Edmonton, London, England. It provides a comprehensive range of medical services to the local communities of Enfield and Haringey.
History[edit]
The hospital was established in 1840 as a workhouse infirmary. It was later renamed as North Middlesex Hospital in 1928 and gained university status in 1995. The hospital underwent a major redevelopment project in 2010, which included the construction of a new maternity unit and an upgraded emergency department.
Services[edit]
NMUH offers a wide range of services including emergency medicine, maternity care, paediatrics, surgery, and elderly care. The hospital also has specialist services in HIV and AIDS, urology, and diabetes.
Facilities[edit]
The hospital has over 500 beds and a 24-hour A&E department. It also has a modern maternity unit, an intensive care unit, and a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment centre.
Performance[edit]
NMUH has been rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection. The hospital is also a teaching hospital affiliated with Middlesex University and University College London.
