Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) is a statistical technique used to compare the mean vectors of more than one dependent variable across one or more groups. The choice of statistic depends on the data and the assumptions met. 3. Computing the Test Statistic: This involves calculating the chosen test statistic based on the sample data. 4. Making a Decision: Based on the computed test statistic and the critical value from the appropriate distribution, a decision is made to either reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis.
Interpretation[edit]
If the null hypothesis is rejected, it indicates that there are significant differences in the multivariate means across the groups. Further analysis, such as post hoc tests, can be conducted to understand where these differences lie. It is also important to examine the effect size to understand the practical significance of the findings.

MANOVA is used in various research settings where multiple dependent variables are of interest. For example, in psychological research, MANOVA might be used to examine the effect of therapeutic interventions on multiple outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.
