Morph[edit]

Morph is a British clay animation character that was created in 1977 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton at Aardman Animations. Morph is known for his distinctive brown color and his ability to change shape, which is a characteristic feature of claymation.

History[edit]

Morph first appeared on the children's television program Take Hart, which was hosted by Tony Hart. The character was designed to be a sidekick to Tony Hart, often engaging in playful antics and interacting with the host in humorous ways. Morph's popularity led to the creation of his own spin-off series, The Amazing Adventures of Morph, which aired in 1980.

Characteristics[edit]

Morph is a small, plasticine figure who can transform into various shapes and objects. He communicates through a series of high-pitched sounds and gestures, as he does not speak in a conventional language. Morph's ability to morph into different forms allows for a wide range of comedic and imaginative scenarios.

Friends and Family[edit]

Morph is often accompanied by his friend Chas, who is similar in appearance but has a more mischievous personality. Other characters in Morph's world include Grandmorph, Delilah, and Folly.

Revival[edit]

In 2013, Aardman Animations launched a successful crowdfunding campaign to bring Morph back to the screen. The new series, titled Morph, premiered on YouTube in 2014, introducing the character to a new generation of fans.

Cultural Impact[edit]

Morph has become an iconic figure in British popular culture, representing the creativity and innovation of stop-motion animation. The character has been featured in various media, including television, books, and merchandise.
