Etymology
The name "YouTube" is a combination of "You" and "Tube," where "tube" is an old term for television or cathode ray tube. The name signifies that the platform is a space for individuals to share and watch videos, essentially a "tube" for "you."
Function
YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to playlists, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users. It offers a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media videos.
