The Ministry of Health (pronunciation: /ˈmɪnɪstri ɒv hɛlθ/) is a government department responsible for public health matters, including the regulation and oversight of health care services, disease prevention, and health education.
Etymology
The term "Ministry of Health" is derived from the Latin word "ministerium", meaning "service", and the Old English word "hælth", meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well".
