Government
Government (/ˈɡʌvərnmənt/, from Old French gouvernement) is the system or group of people governing an organized community, often a state.
Etymology
The term "government" was first used in the 14th century to refer to the act of governing or ruling. It is derived from the Old French gouvernement, which is based on the Latin word gubernare meaning "to steer or pilot", a metaphorical extension of its original sense of "to control, direct, guide, pilot".
Definition
In the case of its broad associative definition, government normally consists of legislature, executive, and judiciary. Government is a means by which organizational policies are enforced, as well as a mechanism for determining policy. Each government has a kind of constitution, a statement of its governing principles and philosophy.
Types of Government
There are several types of government, including democracy, monarchy, oligarchy, autocracy, and theocracy. Each type has its own structure and way of making decisions for the people it governs.

An autocracy is a system of government in which supreme power is concentrated in the hands of one person.
Theocracy
A theocracy is a form of government in which a deity of some type is recognized as the supreme ruling authority.
