Millie's Cookies

From WikiMD's medical encyclopedia

Millie's Cookies is a chain of retail bakeries, specializing in cookies, muffins, hot drinks and gifts, established in 1985. The company operates in numerous locations across the United Kingdom and has a growing presence internationally.

History

Millie's Cookies was founded in 1985 by Mario Budwig and Richard O'Sullivan. The first store was opened in Sheffield, England. The company was named after Mario's mother, Millie, who was known for her delicious homemade cookies. The company quickly expanded across the UK, opening stores in high traffic areas such as shopping centres and train stations.

Products

Millie's Cookies is best known for its fresh baked cookies, which are available in a variety of flavours including chocolate chip, double chocolate, white chocolate, and oatmeal raisin. In addition to cookies, the company also sells muffins, brownies, and a range of hot drinks. Millie's Cookies also offers personalized giant cookies, which can be ordered online or in-store for special occasions.

Expansion

In 2003, Millie's Cookies was acquired by the Compass Group, a British multinational contract foodservice company. This acquisition allowed Millie's Cookies to expand its operations internationally. Today, Millie's Cookies has over 100 stores in the UK and several more in countries such as France, Germany, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
