Early Life and Education[edit]

Max Jessner was born in Königsberg, East Prussia, which is now Kaliningrad, Russia. He pursued his medical education at the University of Königsberg, where he developed an interest in dermatology. Jessner completed his medical degree in 1896 and subsequently worked under the mentorship of renowned dermatologists of his time.

Jessner's work focused on the treatment of skin diseases and the development of innovative therapeutic techniques.

Jessner's Solution[edit]

One of Jessner's most notable contributions to dermatology is the development of Jessner's solution, a chemical peel that combines salicylic acid, lactic acid, and resorcinol. This solution is used to treat various skin conditions, including acne, melasma, and photoaging. Jessner's solution is known for its effectiveness in exfoliating the skin and promoting cell turnover, making it a popular choice in cosmetic dermatology.

He passed away on 12 December 1938, leaving behind a legacy of significant contributions to the field of dermatology.
