The borough covers an area of approximately 60.56 square kilometers and is one of the 32 London boroughs that make up Greater London.

History

The London Borough of Bexley was established on 1 April 1965 by the London Government Act 1963. It was formed from the amalgamation of the former area of the Municipal Borough of Bexley, the Municipal Borough of Erith, the Crayford Urban District, and part of the Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District. This reorganization was part of a larger effort to restructure London's local government in the mid-20th century.
