Life-Size
Life-Size is a 2000 American fantasy comedy film directed by Mark Rosman and starring Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks. The film follows a young girl named Casey Stuart (played by Lohan), who is grieving the loss of her mother. In an attempt to resurrect her mother, Casey performs a magic spell that instead brings her doll, Eve (played by Banks), to life as a full-sized human.
Plot
The story begins with Casey Stuart, a bright but troubled girl, trying to cope with the death of her mother. In her quest to bring her mother back, Casey finds a book of magic and decides to perform a spell. However, instead of reviving her mother, the spell transforms her Eve doll, a popular children's toy, into a living, breathing human being. The film explores the adventures and challenges Casey and Eve face as Eve tries to navigate the complexities of the real world with the innocence of a doll. Throughout the film, themes of friendship, acceptance, and the process of healing after a loss are explored.

Production
Life-Size was produced by Walt Disney Television and premiered on ABC as part of the Wonderful World of Disney series. The film's concept, blending fantasy elements with real-life issues, was aimed at a family audience, particularly targeting children and pre-teens. The production involved significant visual effects to bring the magical elements of the story to life, especially in scenes showcasing Eve's transformation from doll to human.
Reception
Upon its release, Life-Size received mixed reviews from critics but was generally well-received by audiences, particularly for its charm and the performances of Lohan and Banks. It has since become a cult classic, remembered fondly by those who grew up watching it in the early 2000s. The film's positive messages about friendship and overcoming grief, combined with its light-hearted humor, have contributed to its lasting appeal.
Legacy
The film's popularity led to the development of a sequel, Life-Size 2, which aired on Freeform in December 2018, with Tyra Banks reprising her role as Eve. The sequel explores new themes and introduces new characters while maintaining the spirit of the original film.
