Education[edit]

Leland Stanford Jr. showed an early interest in natural history and science. He traveled extensively with his parents, visiting Europe and other parts of the world. During these travels, he collected various artifacts and specimens, which later became part of the Stanford University Museum.

The Stanford family donated a significant portion of their wealth to establish and endow the university, ensuring that it would be a lasting tribute to their son.
