Karachi (pronunciation: /kəˈrɑːtʃi/) is the largest city in Pakistan and the twelfth-largest city in the world. It is the capital of the Pakistani province of Sindh.
Etymology
The name Karachi is believed to have been derived from the word "Karachi", which means "brackish water" in Sindhi. The city was initially named Kolachi-jo-Goth, which translates to "The Village of Kolachi" in Sindhi.
