Joshua Clay is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is best known as a member of the superhero team, the Doom Patrol. Created by Paul Kupperberg and Joe Staton, Joshua Clay first appeared in Doom Patrol (vol. 2) #1 in 1987.

Fictional Character Biography

Joshua Clay, also known by his codename Tempest, was born in Harlem, New York City. He grew up in a challenging environment and eventually joined the United States Army. During his service in the Vietnam War, he discovered his metahuman abilities, which allowed him to generate and project powerful energy blasts from his hands.

Joining the Doom Patrol

After the war, Joshua struggled with his powers and his place in the world. He was eventually recruited by Niles Caulder, also known as The Chief, to join the Doom Patrol. As Tempest, Joshua became an integral member of the team, using his abilities to fight various threats and protect humanity.
