Intravascular (pronounced: in-tra-vas-cu-lar) is a term used in medicine to describe something occurring within, or introduced into, the blood vessels or vascular system of the body. The term is derived from the Latin words 'intra' meaning 'within' and 'vascular' referring to the 'blood vessels'.

The term 'Intravascular' is derived from two Latin words. 'Intra' which means 'within' and 'vascular' which refers to the 'blood vessels'. Thus, the term literally means 'within the blood vessels'.
