The Cinema of India‏‎, also known as Indian cinema, refers to the film industry based in the country of India. The cinema of India consists of films produced across India, which includes the cinematic cultures of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Punjab. Indian cinema is a global enterprise, with its films being viewed by millions of people both within and outside the country.

The history of the Cinema of India‏‎ begins with the production of Raja Harishchandra in 1913, which is considered India's first full-length feature film. The film was produced by Dadasaheb Phalke, who is often referred to as the "father of Indian cinema".
