Incident Management

Incident Management (pronounced: /ˈɪnsɪdənt ˈmænɪdʒmənt/) is a term used in the field of Healthcare Management and Emergency Medicine to describe the process of identifying, analyzing, and correcting hazards to prevent a future re-occurrence. These incidents within a structured organization are normally dealt with by either an Incident Response Team, or an Incident Management Team.

Etymology

The term "Incident Management" is derived from the Latin word 'incidere' meaning 'to fall upon' and the Latin word 'managere' meaning 'to lead by hand'.
