Global Underwater Explorers

From WikiMD's medical encyclopedia

Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) is a scuba diving organization that provides education within the recreational diving, technical diving, and cave diving communities. GUE was formed by a group of divers who shared a desire to safely push the boundaries of exploration.

History

Global Underwater Explorers began in the late 1990s as a response to the need for standardized scuba training and exploration procedures. It was founded by Jarrod Jablonski, Todd Kincaid, and Bob Sherwood who were all experienced divers and instructors.

Training

GUE provides training for new and experienced divers. The organization's courses range from beginner open water diving to advanced technical diving and cave diving. GUE also offers courses in dive rescue, underwater navigation, and underwater archaeology.

Exploration

Global Underwater Explorers has been involved in numerous exploration projects around the world. These include the exploration of Florida's underwater caves, the Andrea Doria shipwreck, and the Antikythera Mechanism wreck in Greece.

Conservation

In addition to exploration and education, GUE is also involved in marine conservation. The organization promotes sustainable diving practices and has participated in several coral reef restoration projects.
