Future Medicinal Chemistry (pronounced: fyoo-cher med-i-sin-al kem-is-tree) is a branch of Medicinal Chemistry that focuses on the development and application of advanced technologies and methodologies in the field of drug discovery and design.

Etymology

The term "Future Medicinal Chemistry" is derived from the English words "future", indicating something that will happen or exist in time to come, and "medicinal chemistry", a discipline at the intersection of Chemistry, especially synthetic organic chemistry, and Pharmacology and various other biological specialties, where they are involved with design, chemical synthesis and development for market of pharmaceutical agents, or bio-active molecules (drugs).
