Fetish (/ˈfɛtɪʃ/; from the French fétiche; which comes from the Portuguese feitiço; and this in turn from Latin facticius, "artificial" and facere, "to make") is a term that is used in a variety of contexts, each with distinct, but related meanings.
Medical Definition
In a medical context, a fetish is a form of sexual behavior in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc. This is often classified as a type of paraphilia, which is a group of sexual disorders characterized by recurrent intense sexual urges, fantasies, or behaviors that involve unusual objects, activities, or situations.
