Federazione Italiana Attività Subacquee

Federazione Italiana Attività Subacquee (FIAS), or the Italian Federation of Underwater Activities, is the national governing body for scuba diving and related underwater activities in Italy. It was established in 1960 and is affiliated with the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS), the world underwater federation.

FIAS was founded in 1960 with the aim of promoting and regulating underwater activities in Italy. It is recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and is a member of the International Underwater Federation (CMAS).

Activities[edit]

FIAS oversees a wide range of underwater activities, including scuba diving, freediving, underwater hockey, underwater rugby, and underwater photography. It also provides training and certification for divers, instructors, and dive centers.

Training and Certification[edit]

FIAS offers a comprehensive range of training courses and certifications, from beginner to advanced levels. These include Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, Dive Master, and Instructor certifications. FIAS also offers specialized courses in areas such as deep diving, cave diving, wreck diving, and underwater archaeology.

FIAS is affiliated with several international organizations, including the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS), the European Underwater Federation (EUF), and the International Maritime Confederation (IMC).
