Ezekiel Jonathan "Zeke" Emanuel (Template:IPA-en) is an American oncologist and bioethicist. He is the current Vice Provost for Global Initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania and chair of the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy.
Etymology
The name Ezekiel is of Hebrew origin, meaning "God will strengthen". The surname Emanuel is also of Hebrew origin, meaning "God is with us".
Career
Emanuel is known for his work in the field of bioethics, particularly his role in the development of the Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obamacare". He has also made significant contributions to the field of oncology, the study and treatment of cancer.
