Evan Shute (pronunciation: /ˈɛvən ʃuːt/) was a renowned Canadian physician and medical researcher known for his significant contributions to the field of medicine.

Etymology

The name 'Evan' is of Welsh origin, meaning 'young warrior', while 'Shute' is an English surname, often associated with a chute or a channel.

Biography

Evan Shute was born in the early 20th century. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in medicine. Along with his brother, Dr. Wilfrid Shute, he co-founded the Shute Institute for Clinical and Laboratory Medicine in London, Ontario, Canada. The Shute brothers were pioneers in the use of Vitamin E in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
