Ellence - (pronounced) (eh-LENTS) A medicine used with other medicines to treat breast cancer that has been surgically removed and has spread to the lymph nodes under the arm. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Ellence blocks a specific enzyme needed for cell division and DNA repair and can kill cancer cells. It's a type of anthracycline antibiotic and a type of topoisomerase inhibitor. Also called epirubicin hydrochloride
