Ed Rensi

Edward H. Rensi (commonly known as Ed Rensi) is an American businessman and former CEO of McDonald's USA. He is also the co-founder and former CEO of Famous Dave's, a chain of barbecue restaurants.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Rensi was born in the United States. He attended Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Career[edit]

Rensi began his career at McDonald's in 1966 as a grill operator, eventually working his way up to become the CEO of McDonald's USA in 1991. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the introduction of several new menu items and the expansion of the company's global footprint.

In 1994, Rensi retired from McDonald's and co-founded Famous Dave's, a casual dining chain specializing in barbecue cuisine. He served as the CEO of the company until 2002.

Rensi has also been involved in various other business ventures, including serving as a director for Snap-on and Freedom Group, and as a trustee for Northwood University.

Personal Life[edit]

Rensi is a noted car enthusiast and owns a collection of classic and vintage cars. He is also involved in various charitable activities, particularly those related to education and children's welfare.

Recognition[edit]

Rensi has received several awards and recognitions for his contributions to the fast food industry, including the Horatio Alger Award for Distinguished Americans and the National Restaurant Association's College of Diplomats Award.
