DuPont (pronounced: /duːˈpɒnt/), officially known as E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, is an American corporation that was established in the early 19th century. The company was founded by Éleuthère Irénée du Pont, a French-American chemist who immigrated to the United States in 1800. The name "DuPont" is derived from the French words "du Pont", meaning "of the bridge".
DuPont is known for its production of a wide range of products, including chemicals, polymers, agricultural products, and synthetic fibers. The company has also been involved in the development of many innovative materials and technologies, such as nylon, Teflon, and Kevlar.
