Doritos (/dəˈriːtoʊz/) is a brand of flavored tortilla chips produced since 1964 by American food company Frito-Lay (a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo).
Etymology
The name "Doritos" is derived from the Spanish word "doradito", which means "little golden thing". It is a diminutive form of "dorado", the past participle of "dorar", a verb meaning "to gold" or "to golden".
