Del Taco is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in Mexican cuisine and American cuisine. The company was founded by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson in Yermo, California, on September 16, 1964.

History

Del Taco was established in 1964 in Yermo, California. The founders, Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson, opened the first restaurant with a menu that included tacos, tostadas, fries, and cheeseburgers, all priced under 19 cents. The restaurant quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of additional locations.

In the 1970s, Del Taco expanded rapidly throughout California and into other states. The chain introduced a variety of new menu items, including burritos, quesadillas, and nachos.
