Communist (/kɒm.juː.nɪst/), derived from the Latin word communis, meaning "common, universal", is a term used to describe a political ideology that advocates for the abolition of private property and the establishment of a classless society where all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
