CIBERObn stands for the Spanish Biomedical Research Centre in Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition ('Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Fisiopatología de la Obesidad y Nutrición), a prestigious public research consortium in Spain. Established on November 28, 2006, CIBERObn operates with funding from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (MICINN). This consortium unites 31 research groups from various Spanish Hospitals, Universities, and Research Centres, dedicated to advancing understanding and addressing the challenges of obesity and nutrition-related diseases.

Mission

CIBERObn's mission is to enhance knowledge about the mechanisms that contribute to the development of obesity, aiming to reduce its incidence, prevalence, and associated complications. Additionally, it focuses on addressing diseases related to nutrition, recognizing the critical role that diet and lifestyle play in public health.
