Church

Church (/tʃɜːrtʃ/; from Old English cirice, related to German Kirche, Old Norse kirkja) is a term used to refer to a religious institution or a place of worship within Christianity.

This Greek term was derived from κύριος (kyrios), meaning "lord" or "master", and was used to denote buildings or houses dedicated to the Christian worship.
