Caribou Coffee was founded by John Puckett and his wife, Kim Puckett. In 2005, Caribou Coffee became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ under the symbol CBOU. However, in 2012, the company was acquired by Joh. A. Benckiser, a German private equity group, and subsequently taken private.
