Cape May County is a county located in the southern tip of the state of New Jersey, in the United States. It is part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden Combined Statistical Area. History

Cape May County was officially created on November 12, 1692, and was named after the Dutch sea captain Cornelius Jacobsen Mey, who explored and charted the area between 1611–1614. Geography

The county covers a total area of 620 square miles, of which 255 square miles is land and 365 square miles (59%) is water.
