COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina (pronounced: /koʊvɪd naɪnˈtiːn pændɪmɪk ɪn bɒsniə ænd hɜːrtsəɡoʊˈviːnə/) is a part of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was confirmed to have reached Bosnia and Herzegovina in March 2020.

Etymology

The term "COVID-19" is derived from "Coronavirus Disease 2019". The disease is caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2, which is a novel coronavirus that was first identified in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan, China. The term "pandemic" is from the Greek words "pan", meaning "all", and "demos", meaning "people".
