Bulloch County is a county located in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 81,768. The county seat is Statesboro.
History[edit]
Bulloch County was created on February 8, 1796, from parts of Screven and Bryan counties. It was named after Archibald Bulloch, a patriot of the American Revolution and the first provisional governor of Georgia.
Geography[edit]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 689 square miles (1,780 km²), of which 673 square miles (1,740 km²) is land and 16 square miles (41 km²) (2.3%) is water.

Demographics[edit]
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 81,768 people, 28,794 households, and 17,890 families residing in the county. The population density was 121.5 inhabitants per square mile (46.9/km²).
Education[edit]
Bulloch County is served by the Bulloch County School District, which includes several elementary, middle, and high schools. The county is also home to Georgia Southern University, a major public research university located in Statesboro.
