Budapest Open Access Initiative
The Budapest Open Access Initiative (pronounced: boo-da-pest oh-pen ak-ses in-i-she-a-tiv) is a significant international effort aimed at making all research articles in all academic fields freely available on the internet. The initiative was launched in Budapest, Hungary, by the Open Society Institute in 2002.
